Rachel's Day in the Garden-Yoga For Kids

 

 

I remember when my son was a baby he would watch me doing Yoga and try to imitate me.  His downward dog was so cute and funny.  Then when he was a toddler his teacher taught his class Yoga.  They would do Yoga right before nap time.

Benefits of yoga for kids:

·        increases strength and flexibility

·        helps them relax, unwind, and calm down to reduce stress and anxiety

·        helps them sleep better

·        promotes interaction between adult and child, and between multiple children

·        improves their fine and gross motor skills, as well as their coordination

·        promotes a healthy, active lifestyle

My son is now 11 years old and taller than me.  So, I asked my 9 year old daughter to give me a quick review of  Rachel's Day in the Garden.  She said she loved the pictures and enjoyed trying to do the different Yoga poses. I agreed with my daughter.  I loved the illustrations and I think this is a fun book to introduce children to Yoga.

Lose The Cape Review

So before you became a mom, what did you think motherhood would be like?! To be honest, I never really thought about it because I thought it would never happen to me.  I can tell you that I didn't think it would be as challenging as it is.  My mom made it look easy.  Now, she only had me.  I have two children an 11 year old boy and a 9 year old girl.  My kids, I love them to death, but there are some days.....You know what I mean.

is a book that contains short real-life stories from various moms.  I love this book because I now really know that I'm not alone.  I found myself laughing and nodding yes at most of the stories.  I believe the moms in the book are saying it's ok that I'm not perfect, just as long as I'm doing the best I can.

Most of us had grandiose ideas of what we would be like as parents; what we would allow our children to do and all those things we would never allow our children to do. We may have sworn we would never let our child watch more than 30 minutes of television, or sleep in our bed, or eat chicken nuggets or God forbid, cheese from a can (gasp!). Yet, the moment those little bundles of joy entered our lives, reality took over. Soon enough, we realized that before children, we knew nothing about being parents.

From breastfeeding to co-sleeping, pledging to feed our children all natural, home cooked meals and so forth, there often comes a point in time where surviving parenthood supersedes your views and your “nevers” slip away. Right?

Never Will I Ever is a collection of essays by mothers (and one brave dad!) who share their stories of how they evolved as parents and learned that when it comes to raising children, we can never say never.

Alexa Bigwarfe is a freelance writer, wife, and mother of three children and a dog. In addition to raising her children, managing her home, and writing, Alexa’s heart is in advocacy and raising funds to support nonprofit organizations involved with infant, children and women’s issues. I loved Reluctant Gods III-Reset! As a science fiction fan, I couldn't have asked for more. It covers so much of what I enjoy reading about, with a story that keeps you interested through the end. My husband didn't want to read it by the description at first, but I urged him to just try it. It's now one of his favorites! He's even gone back and read the first two in the series, although you can keep up even if you haven't. I did read them first and am glad I did. Personally, I like to know the in's and out's of the stories that I read, so I just had to read the others first. - 5 Star Amazon Review

Being a go to Tech by Warren C. Zabloudil is a great how-to and self improvement that should be read by not only anyone going into the IT (information technology) field but any service-based career. Mr. Zabloudil uses a common sense approach pointing out the ins and outs that will make you the individual (or team leader) that everyone looks to when their computer systems are down.
