Power Station |
The first album I want to talk about is The Power Station. The Power Station was a supergroup that included two members of my favorite band Duran Duran, John Taylor and Andy Taylor. Also Tony Thompson, the drummer from the great disco band Chic and Robert Palmer. The album was produced by the late great Bernard Edwards of Chic. I remember when they announced that they were forming this supergroup. I said I wasn't interested if it wasn't Duran Duran. Also, I thought it meant the end of Duran. So I wasn't happy. But of course, I saw them on Saturday Night Live perform two songs from the album and I was hooked.
Paul Young Secret Of Association |
The second album I would like to talk about is Secret of Association by Paul Young. This was his second album. I have to admit I preferred his first album No Parlez. It was interesting to see that Secret of Association was the album that made him a household name. It was also released on March 25, 1985. He released two singles from this album in the US, Everytime You Go Away (written by Daryl Hall of Hall & Oates) and I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down. I also saw him in concert in August 1985.
Do you have any favorite albums released in March of 1985? Let me know in the comments below!
